World & Science: Global Warming: Doomsday?

    I don't know what to believe. Based on the fact that all scientists agree global warming is taking place, I believe it's real. I just don't know how real it actually is. Stephen Hawking recently gave a presentation in China is which he addressed the issues of global warming, saying that we are immediate danger and should start looking for a new planet to live. Some extremists, including him, believe "rapid warming" may take place... Where the rate of global warming escalates from a combination of events, causing a catastrophic end to the human race.

    Are you scared?

    My problem is that no one has any helpful ideas. Moving to a new planet isn't exactly something I can do. And it's not like I have money to go out and buy an electric car. I would love to hear real ideas that would actually make a difference.

    Last week I read an article about how we could potentially stop global warming by throwing dirt into the air. Make a big dust cloud to protect us from the sun, aka dark ages.
