How come there isn't a button for it? I want it. It pisses me off. There are threads I'm not interested in reading, and the "New Posts" count keeps building, and it upsets me. I want to be able to mark every thread as read, as opposed to actually clicking the ones I couldn't care less about.

Why would you mark everything read if you haven't read them? Just ignore them. Or filter them out. You can bookmark discussions you want to read and then watch this page. You can also do a search for keywords you're interested in and then save that search. Or just go to the categories you want to view.

I can understand though. It can be annoying to scan through a bunch of topics you don't care about. Hopefully we'll have better ways of filtering unwanted posts.

So no, there is no button for it at the time. The problem is it really kills the database (which is already big).

Sounds like ocd to me though.

OCD is a safe bet. Things like that bother me...But I guess I can live with it for now.

Which brings me to another point I wanted to make earlier:

Why is every topic on the home page? That also bothers me. There's no organization to it at all...I don't care about Durr's computer, or the price of tea in China, so why are they being thrown in my face as soon as I sign in to OP?

Well, that's the point. The front page is a global list of everything being discussed.

Like I said, you can bookmark topics and follow them. Try going to your Account page > Forum Preferences and you can toggle showing your bookmarks in the control panel or even show your history in the panel.

Soon I'm going to re-organize the categories page so it's easier to find topics you care about.
