Prostitution is one of the world's oldest professions. Many young girls are lured into this lifestyle today for the cash. I think it's safe to say, no girl wants to be a prostitute, but in an imperfect world they often feel it's their only choice - or their only chance at big cash. I don't think it should be legal. Granted, it should be a person's choice to do what they want with their body. I could see both sides of the debate.

    What are your thoughts?

i say it should be legal simply because people are going to do it reguardless of its legality, and legalising it would protect both parties involved. Ex, amsterdam, they have a "panic" button in each of the girls rooms that theycan press if something goes wrong. ie. someone pulls a gun, kinife, ect...

is it necessairily right? no.... in this day and age there are PLENTY of jobs out there where you can make decent money and not risk getting urself killed on a daily basis

I think, if it were to be legalized, they could make it safer. As Durr said, they have those neat little buttons. They could organize it, make it safer, cleaner, free of STDs...As opposed to keeping it illegal, and having people do it anyway, risking the onvolvment of illegal drugs, and the potential spread of AIDS, and other various STDs.

Yeah I think the main thing is they'll do it once and get paid a few hundred.. then keep going back to support themselves with the fast cash.

You're right though, prostitution is something that will be around regardless of it being legal or not. Perhaps the only advantage to it being illegal is it gets pushed into the underground city of crime, making it less available to people that want it.

I guess the ultimate problem is not in the prostitution itself, but the after effects like mass outbreaks of STDs, more unwanted pregnancies, and the trickle-down of illegal drugs and crime (murder, battery, etc).
