Nintendo has announced the Revolution will be released globally in June 2006 (except for Europe which may not get it until July for some reason). I wonder how much longer we're going to have to wait for the "official" console name. Revolution is kind of a cool name though. Could call it the Nintendo REV.

The release price is estimated at $200 for the US, €300 in mainland Europe, and £200 in the UK. £200 seems kind of steep...

My other question is what will actually be available at launch. What launch games will there be, what will the Rev come with, what colors will we have to pick from, etc.

Where did you see the release date anounced Takai??

And one game I believe that has been confirmed for launch is a Mario Platformer, that was a big disapointment about the Cube.

Well Gamespot posted part of that aswell (About how the Rev. would launch everywhere at the same time) but they didn't say anything about a launch date other than "After the end of the current fiscal year (March 31st 2006)." So I don't quite trust this information, I also haven't seen anything anywhere about the date. Sure theres a possibility that this information is right but I'm going to say thats its probaly not official yet.

I agree that it does seem somewhat unspecific, and it is not an official announcement by Nintendo. The article seems to vaguely mention how this was an accidental slip by a partner of Nintendo.
