North Korea has agreed to give up all nuclear arms and activities and rejoin the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Pyongyang has also agreed to accept inspections by the UN nuclear watchdog.

In return, the US has declared that it has no intention of attacking North Korea and will respect its sovereignty.

The breakthrough came during a fourth round of six-party talks in Beijing aimed at ending a three-year standoff over North Korea's nuclear ambitions.

You think this means the end to the nuclear tension with N. Korea?

first off, thank God this happened....

secondly, while this is a great break in the problem in N Korea i doubt that a county with a history as theirs is will stay on the straight and narrow for long. the only way to be sure that this wont happen for a long time is for the leader (dont remeber his name) to finally die so someone, hopefully less psycotic, will take over.

Way to think outside the box, Durr.

Believe it or not, people do change. Ideals change. Times change. Everything changes. If North Korea is willing to work with the world, and take steps towards peace, there's no reason why we shouldn't allow it, or wish for anyone's death. Clearly they're making an effort, reguardless of what their reasoning may be, so yes, I feel this should end, or at least relieve, some of the tension.

And I think his name is Kim. I don't know the last name. =/

    Kim Jong-il

I have to agree with you D that it seems unlikely for them to stay on this path. N Korea has 'claimed' peace with S Korea multiple times now, only to shoot down or capture some of their civilians shortly after. Death seems a little far off.. hopefully they'll revolt against the dictator before then.

Jong-il is a lot worse than Saddam was imo.

I'm glad they've decided to cut the nuclear arms though. The way things were going we probably would've ended up in a cold war with N Korea. So this is definitely good news.

yea, and as in the box as my thinking might be its what time and time again N.korea has shows its true colors to be

now if they follow this path and dont cause any problems then yes, i would be willing to move on and forgive their past transgressions...... but only time will tell with this and if the past is any indication it wont last too long
