Escaflowne is going to be showing on Adult Swim this Saturday.

High school student Hitomi Kanzaki, depressed and despondent, wishes to disappear from her world. Her wishes are heard in the alternate world of Gaea where a battle for absolute control is raging! Magically, Hitomi is suddenly transported to this other world and is bestowed with the power to decide its ultimate fate!

It looks like a mech anime, anyone seen it before? Is it good?

I've seen the series, but it was many, many years ago. It seemed good at the time, and isn't really mech, as far as one might think (not compared to, say, Gundam anyway).

You're better off watching the movie if you've seen, or have an idea of, the series.

Seen the film, but not the series. Pretty good, not overly amazing, but still entertaining.

Well it turned out to be ok. Like you said Kuro, it was entertaining but nothing more.
