One of Apple's main rivals, Creative Technology, has been awarded a patent for the interface used on many digital music players...

So I guess the war is on between Creative and Apple? Apple has the market in its pocket atm though. That patent seems kind of stupid, but I guess it was a good punch in Apple's face. What do you think about it?

That's a pretty cheap and desperate shot from Creative.

I've never liked Creative's players. They just have an ugly look to them imo. Looks kinda like a Gameboy pocket or something.

Same here. I also find them to be less reliable than iPods. One of my friends went through two Zen jukeboxes before getting an iPod.

Personally i think Ipods are beyond ghey, they look totally crap and boring and from what ive seen totally unreliable, and have a pretty short lifespan because the rechargeable battery cant be replaced once it dies.
Half the time you see someone hold it an ipod its because they are banging it against their hands trying to make it do somthing after it freezes.
Anyway, i'd much rather just get a regular Mp3 player, not so much because they are a lot better, but because if they do break, they are easier to replace cause they dont cost as much.

No way. I think iPods are pretty sleek and easy to use. Plus they're not too expensive - around €220 for a 20GB iPod is pretty damn good.

I have nearly 2000 tracks and I actively listen to most of them. I also use it as an external HDD.

I love iPods, it's a design masterpiece. 20GB seems like a lot, but it would be nice not to have to worry about how many songs you put on there.. I have a 250mb mp3 player which can only hold a few albums worth of music at once. It's annoying to have to delete stuff and make space when you want to listen to something different.

If I'm going to spend a few hundred dollars on an iPod I'd rather save up a little more to get one of the new Media Players that can play movies, view images, AND listen to music.
