My laptop is semi-new.. It's new for me, but I got it used on eBay a while ago. It's a few years old though and only has a Pentium III. Whenever I work the processor to hard it overheats and shuts down.. Sometimes it feels like the vent is going to start spewing flames when I have multiple things going at the same time (Firefox, AIM, IRC, Adaware, etc) lol.

I've noticed that it only happens when the laptop is on my bed though.

    Anyone have problems like this?

Well yeah if its on your bed the fans going to be totally blocked so it wont cool properly.
Maybe try going into the Bios and turning the processor down a bit, or get a better fan installed.

Good ideas, I'll turn the processor down next time I restart. Or maybe I'll just try being a little less lazy and sit at the desk or something lol.
