Hey I was wondering, when you play music on internet explorer, where's the temporary folder that it's saved in?

not streaming... Streamin gis a means to prevent piracy, but there is away around that. Get a sound recording program (my MP3 Pro works well for this), and record the stream as it plays...viola, instant song download...

Drawbacks: you have to listen to the song/file in it's entirety. It's only as good as the stream quality.

Pluses: It will stop, and start a new file during pauses such as the transition from one song to the next...

    I'm talking about non-streaming media.

But now that you mention it, thanks, because I was wondering about that as well..

Actually though, I wanted to know where it saved a song to when you played it directly in IE. For example, I have a song hosted, I go to the URL in IE, and it loads/plays it. Where is the temporary file saved?

it depends on your settings, for example, I keep the space for my temporary internet files limited to 1 mb, that way I don't get a ton of clutter. Anyway, if the file I listen to is larger than 1 mb (it always is) then it's chached until you close IE...

Now you might want to run a search for the particular file you were listening to, as IE's settings are freaky... active X controllers are in one area, dl's in another, and yet Temp internet files in are not located in either local...

    Try "my downloads"

well if you look at the link that brings you to the music, right click, and hit "Save Target As"

that should save the target file (the next page your trying to bring up, in this case the music) to a specified location on your HD.

that willonly work though if the next time you click on the link that it brings you DIRECTLY to the music, not another page with the music on it. if that is the case it will save the entire web page, and although i'm sure you could somehow extract the song from that, idk how
